I feel very fortunate to live just a few blocks away from one of the best spots in Brooklyn: Rooftop Farms. I started hearing and reading about Rooftop Farms when I moved to the neighborhood almost a year ago. It wasn’t until this past weekend, however, that I finally took some time to head over and buy some produce at their Sunday market.

The one fast food place that I still love to indulge in when I head back south for a visit is Pollo Tropical. It’s cuban fast food and it is the best grilled chicken and roasted pork (it’s all about the mojo juice marinade and sauteed onions). My mouth is watering writing this. I could eat everything on their menu, except for one thing — the plantains. I never really enjoyed plantains and growing up in Miami they were everywhere.

My Grandfather has always been an inspiration to me and continues to inspire me everyday. For as long as I can remember, he has been baking incredible brownies, cookies, quiches, noodle koogles — just to name a few. I have been fortunate enough to enjoy all of his delicious recipes over the past twenty-seven years. Now, with my new-found love for cooking, I feel fortunate for all of the moments that I get to sit down and chat food, recipes and life with him.

I heart summer Fridays at work. I get out early, meet up with friends, go for a bike ride or stroll around and take in a relaxing early start to the weekend. Last Friday my friend met me at work and on our way home, we passed through Long Island City and decided to stop for a quick bite at Sage General Store. I am officially a big fan of this place.�

Making my own quinoa pizza dough has been on my list of recipes to try for a while now. I had every intention of finally trying this last night. That was until i got home late and tired and wanting to make something quick to eat. Enter the easy, yet still healthy alternative: ezekiel tortillas.
